Fish Tank Bottle

Description

I did mention with the orange bottle [link] that one of my ideas for it was doing something with goldfish, but I decided a green, preferably stockier and rounder bottle would be better.

So here it is :D

Like with the previous coloured bottles (thinner, a bit taller, square) I started with a clay blend, this time of black and green and actual black glitter pushed into it to mimic the gravel in my aquarium. After that I started adding the plants (am really liking the tall light green one) and even a lovely fake flower (my tank had one till the colours became too faded).

While I have different fish nowadays I once had these veil-tailed goldfish (hence why they keep popping up in other artwork of mine ;)) and I thought it would be cool to make them. I began with the black Moor making it completely out of black clay but afterwards dusting it a bit with copper mica powder, as black goldfish do have an orange shimmer where the light hits them.
The orange fish was next and this one I dusted with gold mica powder. The spotted white fish I made the same way I did my previous goldfish project [link], just a bit more realistic. Dusted that with shimmering white mica powder.

All in all it turned out as an homage to the fish that started my love for goldfish so this baby is definitely not going anywhere. IT'S MINE (at least until I have a fish tank big enough to keep this goldfish again). Though seriously, I gotta stop making things I want to keep. That's not how you become a commercially successful artist ;)

The 6th photo I added to fill in the empty spot and it shows how I'm using the bottle. I have 2 of these candelabras you can just put in any bottle with an opening wide enough (so wine bottles, oil bottles, things like that) and now I finally have a bottle fancy enough to use one of them.
For ease and darkness I put the whole item on the floor in my hallway while making the photo, which is way there's a draft showing, but obviously that's not where I keep it the rest of the time. If only because I have a very curious cat who already tried to sniff the flame while I was setting up my camera (she stopped just in time).
